Turkey Dinner Pie FAQ

What is it? The turkey dinner pie is a very large, family-sized version of our best-selling menu item at Pie Cloud. It is a giant savory pie that features a pie crust made out of our rosemary-and-sage stuffing; it’s filled with fresh roast turkey, gravy and vegetables; and, it’s crowned with dollops of mashed potatoes. It comes with a side of our famous cranberry relish, in separate container. Please note that over the years other Calgary bakeries have copied the name of this product due to its success, but other offerings are typically only a simple turkey pot pie that does not feature a stuffing crust and mashed potato topping and would not taste like the traditional Thanksgiving dinner this item boasts.

Is it economical? Yes. One 10” turkey dinner pie comfortably feeds 6 adults, or 4 very hungry adults. Price is $59 per pie (less than what many a decent-sized turkey alone can cost!) It is very easy to cut and serve, akin to regular pie, as the mashed potato quenelles on top of the pie create 6 natural portions.


Won’t my family and friends think a turkey dinner pie is less satisfying than a traditional dinner? No. While it is unconventional to have everything in one pan, you really don’t need to cook all day to dine on all the flavors that a delicious, traditional turkey dinner entails. Many of our guests from previous Thanksgivings who purchased this item have gone out of their way to contact us post-holiday and tell us how the turkey dinner pie was better than — or easily equivalent to — the food they would have typically prepared at tremendous time and expense. For many families this item is now a tradition they look forward to all year.


Do I need to heat it? The turkey dinner pie you receive from us is freshly made for you shortly before pick-up and is fully cooked, and then cooled. With a quick re-heating  it can be eaten shortly after pick-up, or, refrigerated and then re-heated later (this takes about 45 minutes in a 350 degree oven or until hot in the middle.) It’s equally tasty, whether you heat and eat it as soon as you get it or whether you freeze it for later use. It may easily be be wrapped and frozen, then thawed and heated at a later date.  We suggest thawing our frozen, fully cooked pies for a day in the refrigerator, prior to final heating, for the most evenly warmed product.


Can I really skip all the fuss of Thanksgiving cooking? Yes. It’s not cheating to have us do the work for you; and, you don’t need to feel guilty. Many of our guests who purchased the turkey dinner pie last Thanksgiving ordered it again for Christmas. We do suggest you supplement it with a few side dishes for the most fulfilling dining experience.


What other savory items or side dishes do you suggest for a holiday meal? You’re likely the best person to predict how much food you need or know exactly how your family and friends like to eat. The Turkey Dinner Pie is an entire meal unto itself (it includes your stuffing, turkey, gravy, vegetables and mashed potatoes all in one pan, with a side of separately packaged cranberry relish.) But, many people are interested in additional accompanying dishes.  Some of our customers have holiday guests who like to eat an extra-large amount of a particular component of a turkey dinner, and thus choose to purchase additional sides of those items. You may purchase extra gravy, mashed potatoes or cranberry relish, if desired.  If you’d like to add more items to your Thanksgiving meal for extra variety and color, please consult our list of Side Dishes for further ideas. Please note that a 12 oz side dish is suitable for a couple of hungry people. You may need two or more of a specific side for family service of items like extra mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, etc.


What if one of my dinner guests eats gluten-free, vegetarian or vegan? Special dietary restrictions can be readily accommodated. Although we do not modify our family-sized Turkey Dinner Pie, you can purchase an additional, single-serving pot pie that easily complies with most specialized eating plans. Gluten-free diners tend to enjoy a Chicken Pot Pie that is made with a shredded potato crust, while vegetarian and vegan guests most frequently dine upon our Roasted Root Vegetable Pie that features flaky pastry and creamy sauce, making it hearty (like a chicken pot pie), but completely meat and dairy-free.  We can also do a single-sized version of our Turkey Dinner Pie in gluten-free format; it sits upon a shredded potato bottom crust instead of our signature stuffing crust. Our Boston Chowder Pie also features a gluten-free potato crust and is highly popular.

Thanksgiving Feast for Four $129

Four appetizers of either Butternut Squash Soup or Harvest Salad start off this sumptuous dinner.

Your entree is one of our full size Turkey Dinner Pies (suitable for 4 hungry adults with a bit left over, or 6 more controlled portions) accompanied by a 6 oz cup each of turkey gravy and house-made cranberry relish. Enjoy your choice of mixed root vegetables, brussel sprouts with bacon or sweet potato mash on the side, along with 4 brioche buns or 4 buttermilk biscuits.

End dinner on a perfect sweet note with a full size pie, your pick of pumpkin, pecan, cranberry-apple or traditional apple.

All of our signature pies featured on our regular menu are also available for holiday purchase, in addition to the seasonal special flavors listed below. An assortment of small baked goods is also available for grab’n’go in store, until sold out. We suggest you advance order anything you know you want for certain for your holiday gathering.

Pumpkin Pie with Cinnamon Sugar Pastry Leaves  ($35):  A classic, fully-baked pumpkin pie with small pastry leaves trimming the pie edge.

Pumpkin Pie with Whipped Cream ($33): A traditional pumpkin pie topped with a generous garnish of whipped cream and pumpkin spices.

Apple Pie ($33): Traditional pastry crust filled with mounds of thinly sliced apples, kissed by cinnamon and sugar.

Pecan Pie  ($35): A generous amount of pecans smothered in a butter, brown sugar and molasses mix, resting upon buttery pastry base.

Apple-Cranberry Pie ($33): Similar to our traditional apple pie listed above, but spiked with the addition of tart, colorful cranberries.

Chocolate Pecan Bourbon Pie ($35): Our classic pecan with the addition of smoky notes of bourbon and dark chocolate. 

Pumpkin Cheesecake on Gingersnap Cookie Crust ($33): Classic cheesecake meets pumpkin and warm spices, set on a gingersnap cookie crust.

Caramel Apple Cheesecake ($33): Fall apples and rich caramel set atop traditional cheesecake on a graham crumb crust. 

Sweet Potato Pie ($33): This seasonal favorite is topped with house made marshmallow meringue.

We are closed Mondays and Tuesdays each week so responses to orders/messages may be delayed if submitted on those days.

This year, you may now order a complete meal package (for optimum ease!) or pick and choose the specific items you desire in 'a la carte' fashion.

Before you order ...

Be sure to clearly identify the specific items you desire, the size of items you want and the quantity of each item that you require.

Determine the date and approximate time of day you wish to pick up. Please note, a pick up time is necessary and we ask you to keep to your appointed time for efficiency, to avoid big lines ups and to allow for social distancing. Please take note of your assigned time and try not to change it. 

If you have any questions or are uncertain what you need, please do not hesitate to call to discuss your food requirements. We can usually sort things out in a quick call versus a long string of emails.

If emailing your order, please do not send credit card info. Provide a phone number and a staff person will call you back for payment and to confirm that your order has been received and is in the system.

During holiday seasons when order volume is high, please be diligent in following up that your order has been received, paid for, and confirmed, in order to guarantee that it will be made and ready. Thank you!
